On Tour On Sale

Media Release: Are You Too Cool for School?

Ribbon of Africa is looking for 3 WA designers to take part in our Winter Wonderland fashion showcase at the 4th School of St Jude’s Charity Ball. The charity has received much media attention over the years including a stint on the ABC’s Australian Story. Funds raised go towards educating the beautiful children of St Jude School in Tanzania, Africa.

As such, our showcase theme will be Winter Wonderland . . . with an African twist. We LOVE the idea of incorporating Australian fashion with a little African flair including but not limited to African jewellery, headdresses and music. Here is a great opportunity to flaunt your designs and creativity, for a great cause!

Curious yet?

Date: Sat 11 December 2010, 6.30pm start

Venue: Hotel Rendezvous, Scarborough, Perth WA (400+ guests expected)

Garment colours: The event décor will mainly be whites, blues and silvers. We are looking for garment colours to compliment this, but please don't let this limit you.

Garment styles: Your garments do not have to be African. . . that's where we will collaborate with you to creatively "Africanise" them. We are looking for an eclectic range - the more outrageous, the better. All styles ranging from evening to casual will be considered - if you have kids wear, that would be a bonus.

Number of garments per designer: 5

Up for a challenge? We would love to close the showcase with an African Snow Queen, so please show us the jaw-dropping garment you have in mind for her. You are only limited by your imagination!

If you are genuinely interested in particiating, please email Taku Scrutton at Ribbon of Africa by Friday 12 November 2010 for consideration. Please include:

· Images of 5 garments and/or accessories you think would work with the Winter Wonderland theme

· Website or Facebook page link (if you have one)

· Preferred contact details (We will notify the successful designers by Tuesday 16 November 2010)

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you. In the meantime, we invite you to visit the School of St Jude's website to see more about the charity.
