Indiego♥Child: Beyond Garment Launch

Last night I was lucky enough to be invited along to Perth Fashion Festivals launch of Beyond Garment at W.A's Maratime Museum in Fremantle, which saw drew in Perth's most fashionable and creative.

Beyond Garment offers an opportunity to see some of W.A’s most influential designers and artists assemble works projected outside of the fashion norm, to be showcased during the Perth Fashion Festival.

Using a variety of media and textiles, twenty designers have created wearable art that challenges established notions of ‘garment’. Their work draws on a desire to explore the boundaries of fashion, and show that accessory can become the focus of body adornment – not just an afterthought.

The highlight of the evening for me was when the team of uber-gorgeous Vivienne models led by The Face of Perth Fashion Festival Sarah Pauley; effortlessly cascaded down the stairs, notably wearing pieces from the exhibiting artists. The models were absolutly stunning and the wearable art even more so, the neck piece that adorned Sarah Pauley certainly showed that an accessory can become the main focus of body adornment.

The team of models then led us guests into the gallery; as I entered into the gallery I was completely overwhelmed, there was so many fascinating pieces of Artwork in the one space it was simply magnificent.
