Day three wrap-up

The cream of Western Australia's fashion industry was on display last night at two stellar, sold-out shows, WA Designer Collections 1 and 2, at Fashion Paramount. 25 of Western Australia's most exciting designers - established and up-and-coming - came together in a unique showing to celebrate and demonstrate the diverse and outstanding talent alive in this State.
WA Designer Collections 2 kicked off at 6.30pm with One Fell Swoop followed by a strong collective of 12 of WA's most exciting labels to watch including Arj Selvam, Daniella Caputi, Elementree Clothing, Garth Cook, Leah Tarlo, Leanne Lim, Lonely As A Cloud, Lonely 8-Bit Heroes, On Tour, Pinchandspoon, Poppy Lissiman and The Butcher and the Crow.
The second show of the evening, WA Designer Collections 1, confirmed WA's position as a fashion force to be reckoned with. Ae'lkemi opened the show with models walking down the catwalk to the rock ballad Sweet Child of Mine followed by stunning collections from 11 of WA's most celebrated labels including Breathless, Fenella Peacock, Flannel, Liz Davenport, Megan Salmon, Of Cabbages and Kings, Stand International, Story by Tang, S2, United Constructions and Empire Rose which closed the show with models walking to Goin' Out West by Queens of the Stone Age.
Spotted in the front rows of the sell-out shows, which both attracted crowds of up to 600 people, were Minister John Day, Perth Fashion Festival's International Ambassador and esteemed fashion photographer Russell James, plus size model Natalie Wakeling, Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts and designer Ruth Tarvydas.
