Butchered Fashion

Ok so I am almost positive that you all would have seen Lady GaGa at the MTV awards all kitted out in her "Meat Dress". On the night there was a lot of confusion surrounding the attire however at a later date Gaga offered the following explanation when she later appeared on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show, saying it was a protest against the US Army for its bad treatment of gay soldiers.

"[The dress] has many interpretations," Gaga said. "If we don't stand up for our rights soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And I am not a piece of meat."

Not too sure where the connection lies between standing up for Gay rights and adorning sliced animal, go figure? After all it is Gaga and a lot of things that she does don't necessarily make sense.

What is even more bizarre than Gaga wearing meat, is models on the runway...yes models on the runway wearing meat!?!?

Designer Jeremy Scott received a standing ovation last week at Milk Studios after wowing the audience with an eclectic collection that included a bustier and matching skirt that appeared to be made out of prosciutto.

Somehow I don't think that this trend will be flying off the catwalk in to a store near you, any time soon.

Please do share your comments on this topic, as I would like to know how you feel.
Is this going one step too far?
Do you  think that Jeremy Scott deserved a standing ovation or do you feel that this is exploitation of animals?
