PFF OFFICIAL MEDIA RELEASE 2010
Perth Fashion Festival wraps with coveted industry awards

Perth Fashion Festival (PFF) ended last night with the prestigious Mercedes-Benz WA Fashion Awards held at Burswood Entertainment Complex. Celebrating the best in WA fashion and the close of the biggest PFF yet, Perth's fashion faithfuls were dressed in their designer best mixing with the WA fashion industry's most notable designers, models and up-and-comers, cementing the WA Fashion Awards as the hottest ticket in
town.

The red carpet event saw the industry's elite - established and emerging designers, stylists and models - compete for 13 highly-coveted fashion awards - five industry awards, three model awards and five student award categories.

Hosted by Basil Zempilas and Emmy Kubainski, the event opened with a performance by three-piece cabaret ensemble The Ruby Roses. The evening included seven live fashion shows, a performance by indie-electro-pop duo Tim and Jean (composers of Come Around the unofficial theme song of PFF 2010) and a live auction hosted by Tiny Holly.

PFF Director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan said the sell-out gala event was a great success, with some of WA's most talented designers, models and creatives taking out the prestigious titles.

"The WA Fashion Awards are the pinnacle of Perth Fashion Festival and a night to celebrate the Western Australian fashion industry as a whole. They acknowledge not just our designers but also our extremely talented pool of models, photographers, boutiques, stylists, students and creatives," said Mariella.

"The strength of the WA Fashion Awards is that all winners are nominated and voted for by their peers - members of the WA fashion industry."

"This year's winners are among the finest talent in the country and I am thrilled to call them our own," said Mariella.
