Perth fashion festival: Day 2

Perth Fashion Festival: Day two wrap-up
11 September 2010

Perth Fashion Festival's Fashion Paramount hosted the first two runway shows of Perth Fashion Festival 2010 last night at The Old Gasworks Building on Wellington Street, Perth.

The Paramount yet again has been decked out to emulate Perth Fashion Festival sleek and fashionable vibe; an ultra chic white Euro-inspired catwalk, a plethoro of hanging lights and a crisp and clear sound system that pumping out sweet tunes, creating an unmatchable ambiance.

Over 600 people attended the two catwalk shows; Times Square and Ruth Tarvydas. Times Square featured the stunning SS 10/11 collections of amazing homegrown talent; Leona Edmiston, Wayne Cooper, Bettina Liano,Al'kemi, Breathless and Anna Thomas.

There were a few minor glitches throughout the show; footwear issues followed by wardrobe malfunctions, which resulted in one model left baring a little more breast than intended, all in all it made for a memorable show.

Designers Leona Edmiston and Wayne Cooper, both just happened to be sitting directly across from me; despite the mishaps the pair seemed to be enjoying themselves , rising for a much deserved standing ovation at the end of the show.

With little over an hours break in between shows, we made our way next door to the Official Fashion Bar, it was hustling and bustling with anticipation for the Sold Out Tarvydas show.

Tarvaydas kicked of their show with a spectacular performance from an aerial silk performer and a single-point trapeze artist descending from the ceiling and onto the catwalk.

Guests were then privileged to watch a short black and white film followed, specially produced for the occasion, it featured The Ruth Tarvaydas from her earlier years as a model, and starred the much loved model- Lia Tapper.
