Local Fremantle resident Maree Giglia, owner of De’code Hair Body Lifestyle presents “Glam Rock”, a hair and fashion show extravaganza with all funds raised going directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The charitable event, will be held at The East End Bar & Lounge, Fremantle on Tuesday October 19 and will feature glamorous collections by Dangerfield and Rock a Frock, gorgeous hair styles and make-up, live
entertainment by local band Sleepfreak, a special demonstration of LIVE body painting on stage by Skylark
Face & Body Art, door prizes and major raffles and much more.
Maree is an internationally trained hair stylist who decided to organise the event after her friends mum sadly
passed away from breast cancer late last year.
“I have had many people in my life affected by breast cancer and when I heard my friend’s mum had passed
away last year and saw the affect it had on her, I knew that I needed to do something to raise awareness about the serious issue of breast cancer,” Maree says.
“Breast cancer affects many women and I don’t think people understand just how serious an issue it is for many Australian families. My hope is that by raising money and awareness through this event, I can in some
way help the National Breast Cancer Foundation come that little bit closer to finding a cure,” she says.
Breast cancer is one of the most commonly occurring cancers in Australian women, with 13,600 new cases
expected to be diagnosed this year. The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the leading national not-for profit organisation that is dedicated to supporting and promoting high quality research into the prevention,
detection and treatment of breast cancer.
The event is heavily supported by many sponsors including Instant Rockstar, Dolce & Salato, The East End Bar & Lounge, B@1 Health & Fitness Studio, Poise Photography, Natasha Hodgkins Makeup & Beauty, Ninja Image, Skylark Face & Body Art, Buffalo Film Studios and many more.
Tickets to the event are only $15 and include a glass of champagne and canapés, a gift bag, a live catwalk featuring models from Catherine Ruze Agency and live entertainment by Sleepfreak.
